\u25ab\ufe0f According to Latvian law enforcement, the network included socially vulnerable individuals of various backgrounds \u2014 from security guards and bloggers to entrepreneurs with significant debts. A separate component of the network\u2019s activities involved advertising contract service in the russian army and attempting to recruit russian-speaking foreigners.<\/p>\n
This case demonstrates a typical kremlin tactic: using ideologically conditioned online communities as sources of intelligence and as potential infrastructure for destabilization.
