\u25ab\ufe0f In reality, this is another stage of russification of the temporarily occupied territories (TOT). In such “model libraries,” you are unlikely to find works of world literary classics or, even more so, Ukrainian books. Under the guise of modernization, a book collection is being created from russian, soviet, and some kremlin-approved foreign authors. Such institutions are promoted by school and university administrations, and various propaganda events like “pushkin days” are held there \u2014 all to instill a “russian identity” in children and youth.<\/p>\n
The pace of creating “modern libraries” once again demonstrates that russia invests significantly more in propaganda than in ensuring the welfare or even basic needs of people in the TOT.
