By February 2026, the company plans to downsize its metallurgical and railcar assembly production, as well as its administrative and support departments. Earlier, Uralvagonzavod had already reduced the workweek to four days in some divisions.<\/p>\n<p>\u25ab\ufe0f This enterprise is part of russia\u2019s military-industrial complex \u2014 it produces T-90 tanks and other equipment for the army. The layoffs at Uralvagonzavod are yet another sign that the house of cards of russia\u2019s war economy is starting to collapse.<\/p>\n<p>After nearly four years of excessive strain and artificial \u201coverheating,\u201d the defense industry is no longer able to sustain such a pace.
