\u25ab\ufe0f russian and pro-russian accounts on social media are massively spreading what appears to be a screenshot of a post by a \u201cPolish citizen\u201d outraged that \u201cUkrainian Nazis\u201d are supposedly being treated in Poland at taxpayers\u2019 expense. The post features a photo of a man with a Nazi-related tattoo.<\/p>\n
In reality, the original message appeared back in 2023 and has long lost relevance \u2014 it is being \u201cactively discussed\u201d only by russian propagandists.<\/p>\n
The photo first appeared on X (Twitter) with the caption \u201cUkrainian POW gets medical treatment.\u201d However, there is no evidence that the image was taken in Poland or that the person depicted is even Ukrainian. The picture contains no identifiable details that could verify the man\u2019s identity or location.<\/p>\n
Moreover, the content of the alleged \u201cPolish\u201d repost is absurd. Poland does not accept or treat prisoners of war \u2014 only wounded Ukrainian soldiers or civilians evacuated officially with the consent of both governments.<\/p>\n
The Center has already debunked a similar fake about \u201cprivileged treatment for Ukrainian soldiers\u201d in Poland.
