Pro-russian narratives are intensifying in Poland’s information space. They aim to shape the opinion that the USA and the EU allegedly “provoked” russia into war against Ukraine, and therefore \u2014 the West is supposedly to blame for the conflict, not the kremlin.<\/p>\n
\u25ab\ufe0f Such messages are actively spread on Facebook with calls to “not allow Poland to be dragged into the war.” They repeat classic messages of russian propaganda:<\/p>\n
\u2013 “Maidan was planned and financed by the USA”;
\n\u2013 “Crimea joined russia after a legitimate referendum”;
\n\u2013 “NATO poses a threat to russian borders”;
\n\u2013 “Ukraine refused peace under Western pressure.”<\/p>\n
These messages are part of a large-scale information influence operation that russia conducts among the European audience. Its central narrative is “do not let Ukraine drag us into the war.” It is used to undermine EU and NATO solidarity and reduce public support for defense initiatives.
