The \u201cAction and Solidarity\u201d (PAS) party of President Maia Sandu received over 50% of the votes based on the count of 99.87% of ballots.<\/p>\n<p>\u25ab\ufe0f Dodon\u2019s pro-russian \u201cPatriotic Bloc,\u201d supported by moscow, scored 24.2%. Despite significant resources invested in media campaigns and supervision by kremlin officials, the attempt to keep Moldova within russia\u2019s orbit failed.<\/p>\n<p>\u25ab\ufe0f A clear trend is emerging \u2014 the kremlin increasingly loses in places where it once had stable influence.<\/p>\n<p>These elections send an important signal to both Ukraine and Europe. The more apparent the kremlin\u2019s weakness becomes, the more united and determined the international coalition grows.
