On September 24, law enforcement officers discovered over 200 ballots at a Chisinau printing house with the stamp \u201cVotat\u201d (voted) already marked next to one of the pro-russian parties. According to the investigation, these ballots could have been used in a \u201ccarousel\u201d scheme \u2014 where a voter submits a pre-filled ballot while taking a blank one out for repeated voting. Experts believe that denial of accreditation due to the inclusion of fake observers in the EPDE list will provide them with a convenient excuse to spread claims of the elections\u2019 \u201cundemocratic nature.\u201d<\/p>\n
The Center previously reported that russia\u2019s foreign intelligence service spreads disinformation about \u201cEurope\u2019s plans to occupy Moldova\u201d and fabricates claims about \u201cNATO troop concentration\u201d in Romania and near the Ukrainian border or the \u201cEU\u2019s fear of falsifications.\u201d In reality, there is no evidence \u2014 this is part of a multi-level strategy by the kremlin to interfere in Moldovan elections through bribery, fakes, and staged protests.<\/p>\n
