\u25ab\ufe0f kremlin\u2019s attempts to attract foreigners via such programs are not new. For example, the \u201cgolden visa\u201d program also proved disastrous: over two years, only 40 applications were filed and the expected revenues never materialized. This demonstrates the lack of genuine interest in russia from Western investors and migrants.<\/p>\n
Despite millions spent on PR, similar projects \u2014 like the \u201crepatriation of compatriots\u201d initiative \u2014 have also failed to meet expectations.
