A series of lectures by russian diplomat and propagandist rodion miroshnik took place at the so-called “russian House” in the capital of Kyrgyzstan. The topics covered were a standard set of anti-Ukrainian clich\u00e9s and narratives of russian propaganda aimed at justifying russia\u2019s aggression against Ukraine: “military dictatorship,” “external governance,” “Donbas discrimination,” “disillusionment with the EU,” and so on.<\/p>\n
Such events are part of kremlin\u2019s systematic campaign to spread disinformation in Central Asian countries in order to keep them within russia\u2019s sphere of influence. The lectures were targeted at political analysts, educators, and journalists \u2014 those who can amplify kremlin narratives through their own platforms: television, blogs, lecture halls, etc.<\/p>\n
The Center for Countering Disinformation has previously reported that “russian houses,” organized by russian state agency rossotrudnichestvo, are positioned as centers promoting russian language and culture abroad.
