russian propaganda presents the events in Odesa as a deliberate arson attack on the Trade Union Building, where \u201crussian\u201d residents were hiding from \u201carmed neo-nazis\u201d and \u201csavage banderities.\u201d In addition, the lie is being spread that \u201cneo-nazis\u201d allegedly killed people who managed to escape from the burning building.<\/p>\n
In fact, it was russia that inspired the riots in Odesa, as it had done in Donbas before. The events of May 2 in Odesa began with an armed attack by pro-russian activists, including russian citizens and residents of Transnistria, on a march of football fans \u201cFor the Unity of Ukraine.\u201d The first deaths were from pro-Ukrainian activists. The fire in the House of Trade Unions was not caused by deliberate arson, but because both sides of the confrontation used molotov cocktails.
