Hostile propaganda is actively spreading manipulations regarding the minerals deal signed between Ukraine and the United States. In particular, narratives are being promoted claiming that Ukraine has supposedly been “sold,” and that in the future, our country will lose the ability to manage its own resources and will suffer major losses.<\/p>\n
In reality, as stated by Ukraine\u2019s Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko, the agreement clearly stipulates that all of Ukraine\u2019s resources remain under Ukrainian ownership. The document provides for the creation of a U.S.-Ukraine Reconstruction Investment Fund. This means that the United States has not \u201cbought\u201d Ukraine, but is investing in projects related to mineral extraction, oil and gas, as well as related infrastructure and processing.<\/p>\n
As emphasized by Andrii Kovalenko, Head of the Center for Countering Disinformation and officer of the Defense Forces, the signing of the minerals deal is a strategic step that opens new prospects for Ukraine\u2019s security, technological development, and reconstruction.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe agreement with the U.S. is about Ukraine\u2019s future, its security, and technologies. And most importantly \u2014 it\u2019s about the return of Ukrainians, including those who lost everything because of the war.
