According to official data from the ministry of internal affairs, the first quarter of 2025 saw a record number of serious and especially serious crimes since the beginning of the so-called \u201cspecial military operation\u201d \u2014 170,800 cases. Compared to the same period last year, this represents a 13.6% increase.<\/p>\n<p>\u25ab\ufe0f The main reason for this is the de facto encouragement of violence by the russian authorities, who exempt criminals from punishment, even during pretrial investigation, in exchange for signing a contract with the ministry of defense to participate in the \u201cspecial military operation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u25ab\ufe0f Once such individuals return to civilian life, they often commit new crimes.
