Enemy Telegram channels are spreading an image of a fake document allegedly showing changes to Ukraine\u2019s Electoral Code.<\/p>\n
The document falsely claims that Ukrainians living abroad are no longer allowed to vote in presidential elections.<\/p>\n
This is false and manipulative\u2014no such law exists. There are no references to any such amendments in the official legislative database of the Verkhovna Rada or on the website of the President of Ukraine.<\/p>\n
The forged \u201cdocument\u201d deliberately distorts articles and clauses to create a false impression.<\/p>\n
\u25ab\ufe0f For instance, it misrepresents Article 7, Part 7. In reality, this clause only applies to local elections, in which Ukrainians abroad indeed cannot participate. However, they retain full voting rights in presidential elections.<\/p>\n
\u25ab\ufe0f The fake also claims that Article 181, which defines how votes are counted in the foreign electoral district, has been \u201crepealed.\u201d This is untrue: the article remains in force and regulates the counting of votes from overseas polling stations.<\/p>\n
