Notably, 88% of the list consists of soviet-era films that align ideologically with today\u2019s state propaganda in russia.<\/p>\n<p>\u25ab\ufe0f A significant portion of the list \u2014 especially for middle and high school students \u2014 includes films about wars and armed conflicts. While most are soviet films about World War II, some are recent propaganda pieces about Ukraine. At the same time, russian officials have lost any sense of restraint, recommending films that contain violent scenes and carry an 18+ age rating.<\/p>\n<p>This type of propaganda is yet another stage in the militarization of russian society. By glorifying warfare and imposing a \u201ccorrect\u201d version of historical events, the russian government seeks to instill a worldview in children that serves the kremlin\u2019s interests.
