However, none of these propagandists mention how, 11 years ago, Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin lied to the entire world, claiming that the unmarked soldiers in Crimea were supposedly “local self-defense forces.” It was only in 2015, after establishing the state holiday “Russian Special Operations Forces Day,” that the Kremlin effectively admitted that the occupation of Crimea was a military operation rather than the result of the local population’s will. This is just one example illustrating the true value of Russian words.<\/p>\n
Over 11 years of occupation, Russia has transformed Crimea from a tourist region into a massive military base.
