Potential peace talks initiated by Donald Trump remain the dominant topic concerning Ukraine, with significant focus on the possible role of major Global South countries in the negotiations. The most extensive coverage of this issue is in China, India and Brazil. In China, in particular, Trump’s statement highlighting the importance of Beijing’s position in the negotiations was met with great enthusiasm.<\/p>\n
Narratives about alleged double standards in assessing the wars in Ukraine and Gaza have intensified in Middle Eastern media. These narratives serve the Kremlin\u2019s interests by turning public opinion in the region against Ukraine and fostering sympathy for Russia.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, negative forecasts about the Russian economy are increasingly appearing in Global South reports. While such assessments were previously noted in China, they are now emerging in Middle Eastern media as well.<\/p>\n
Indian media, alongside Western outlets, have given significant attention to the new sanctions against Russia\u2019s \u201cshadow fleet,\u201d reporting that Russian oil trade with China and India is coming to a halt. However, in China, official media have largely ignored this topic.<\/p>\n
