\n\u2013 statements by Sergey Lavrov regarding Russia\u2019s conditions for negotiations;
\n\u2013 the cessation of Russian gas transit through Ukraine and Slovakia\u2019s reaction;
\n\u2013 Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha\u2019s visit to Syria;
\n\u2013 Russia\u2019s involvement in the aviation disaster in Kazakhstan.<\/p>\n
The visit of Ukraine\u2019s Foreign Minister, Andrii Sybiha, to Syria and Ukraine\u2019s willingness to assist the Syrian people garnered significant attention, not only in the Middle East but across most regions of the Global South. This move by Ukraine has been widely perceived as highly positive.<\/p>\n
The situation concerning the halt of Russian gas transit through Ukraine from January 1st and the Slovak government\u2019s reaction received extensive coverage. In some Middle Eastern countries, Russian narratives were noticeable in reporting these events, while in China, the focus was primarily on Slovakia\u2019s initiative to act as a negotiation platform.<\/p>\n
Media in the Global South also focused on the crash of an Azerbaijani aircraft. In most countries, Russia\u2019s culpability was neither denied nor concealed, although the overall tone of publications remained predominantly neutral.<\/p>\n
