Nursultan Mussagaleyev is a Russian military officer involved in the killings of Ukrainian civilians in Bucha.<\/p>\n
He was born and raised in the Orenburg region of Russia. After receiving a military education, he joined the Russian army in 2019. In February 2022, his unit, as part of the Pskov Airborne Division, entered Ukraine by crossing the northern border.<\/p>\n
According to the Security Service of Ukraine, Lieutenant Nursultan Mussagaleyev, who was then the commander of a reconnaissance platoon, committed crimes against civilians in the Kyiv region. During one of the punitive operations, he ordered his subordinates to abduct a resident of the Bucha district who was driving through an enemy checkpoint. The man was taken to the forest, where he was brutally tortured for an extended period before being executed on Mussagaleyev’s orders. This information was confirmed by a captured occupier who served in his unit.<\/p>\n
For these “exploits,” Mussagaleyev was awarded the \u201cHero of Russia\u201d star in 2023.
