At the beginning of 2024, he became the DPRK&#8217;s Ambassador to the UN in Geneva, and prior to that, he served as Director of the Department of International Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the DPRK.<\/p>\n<p>In October 2022, it was Cho Cheol-soo who expressed the DPRK&#8217;s official position on russia&#8217;s annexation of Ukrainian territories. The North Korean diplomat claimed that the so-called referendums held by russia in the TOT &#8220;reflect the will of the people&#8221; and allegedly comply with the UN Charter.<\/p>\n<p>He also harshly criticized the G7 in November 2023, following a statement by the G7 foreign ministers in support of Ukraine. Cho Cheol-soo called the G7 a &#8220;remnant of the Cold War&#8221; and &#8220;the main source of destruction of global peace&#8221;, accusing them of fomenting war in Ukraine.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The CCD continues its series of reports on propaganda in North Korea.
