\u25fd\ufe0f Kim Song was appointed to the UN in 2018, during a period of heightened tensions between Pyongyang and the international community over North Korea’s nuclear program and ballistic missile tests.<\/p>\n
\u25fd\ufe0f The North Korean ambassador to the UN has repeatedly made statements supporting russia in its war against Ukraine. Notably, during his speech at an emergency session of the UN General Assembly in March 2022, he condemned Western calls for russia to respect Ukraine’s sovereignty, calling them absurd.<\/p>\n
\u25fd\ufe0f Kim Song has also claimed that the West is causing “tragic bloodshed” by supporting Ukraine.
