What is behind the Shelling of Donetsk?

The russian occupiers are again shelling the settlements of the occupied part of the Donetsk region and traditionally blame the Armed Forces of Ukraine for this.

Only on 15.06, russian troops struck 11 settlements, 67 civilian objects were destroyed: 47 residential buildings, a railway track, hospitals and a medical center, cars and trucks, garages. So far, 336 settlements have been cut off, water supply is missing in 174. Defence Intelligence of Ukraine proves that the russians fired at the city from different points and with different weapons, in particular from Makiivka and the Red Guard and Kuibyshev districts of Donetsk in the direction of the city center.

It is becoming clearer why russian militants blame Ukraine for the deaths of civilians.

Firstly, such a provocation will help the collaborators to hope for additional military assistance from russia. The head of the so-called “DNR (DPR)” d. pushilin has already invited the russian federation to attract “additional allied forces” and weapons.

Secondly, provocative shelling will become a justification for the tougher use of aviation and artillery against residential areas of Ukrainian cities.

Thirdly, “sudden” fires at military bases and shelling of Donetsk will become an additional motivation for putin’s announcement of general mobilization both in russia and in the occupied territories.

This is not the first time that the kremlin has acted in a similar scenario.

We will recall that the second Chechen war began precisely from the terrorist attacks in moscow, volgodon, and buinak residential buildings organized by the FFS (fsb rf) in September 1999, which were blamed on “chechen terrorists”.

However, taking into consideration the realities, the implementation of this scenario in Donbas is considered unlikely.

The announcement of general mobilization destabilizes the situation in russia itself and creates a threat to the existing vertical of kremlin authority.

Attempts to recruit about 60,000 reservists during covert mobilization are not supported by ordinary russians. Even they show their reluctance to die for putin’s ambitions:  in russian cities there are more and more protest actions against the war and mobilization and burning military commissars.

In the occupied areas of Donetsk and Luhansk regions, men en masse refuse to become “cannon fodder”. Those mobilized from ORDLO are provided with unusable ammunition and weapons and are used as the least valuable “resource” for conducting “combat reconnaissance” and identifying the positions of Ukrainian defenders. Cases of firefights between forcibly mobilized local residents and russian servicemen have already been recorded.

Forced mobilization of Ukrainian citizens in the occupied territories of Kharkiv Oblast, Kherson Oblast and Zaporizhzhia has been defeated, russian military and fsb officers are conducting an inefficient search for men of conscription age.

Active informational support for mobilization in the territories of russia bordering Ukraine and the so-called liberated territories of Ukraine by the clergy of the moscow patriarchate did not achieve its goal.

An attempt to forcibly mobilize the military from Crimea, who betrayed the oath in 2014, also failed. After all, traitors well understand that they cannot be exchanged and, in case of capture, will be sentenced to 15 years.

We would like to remind you that forced mobilization in territories occupied by the russian federation is a violation of Article 51 of the Geneva Convention on the Protection of the Civilian Population in Time of War.

russia has already lost up to 40,000 personnel, 70% of the ammunition of the ground forces, a third of tanks, more than 3,000 armored vehicles and 200 aircraft in Ukraine, and is forced to deconserve equipment from the 1960s and 80s, which can only tentatively be called combat.

Thus, russia is unable to provide substantial assistance to the “authorities” of the occupied Donbass and to establish reserve forces and equipment.

Nevertheless, in the near future, under the pretext of “protecting” the population of Donbas, we should expect an increase in russian shelling of Ukrainian territories with the use of surface- and air-based missiles, as well as further provocations and terrorist attacks in the border regions of russia and Ukraine.
