Russia is losing combat capability in the war against Ukraine

Why is russia losing combat capability in the war against Ukraine?

According to the Ministry of Defence of Great Britain , at least 10 Russian generals have been eliminated since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine. What’s more , the members of the project “Killed in Ukraine” recorded personal data of 1000 Russian officers of the lower and middle ranks, eliminated by the defenders of Ukraine. The accurate number of neutralised Russian fighters is difficult to assess , but this is a minimum figure, reliably confirmed by British intelligence data and captured documents. According to Pentagon estimates, the real Russian (wartime) set of losses in the war against Ukraine lies north of 70,000 to 80,000 servicemen of various ranks.

In modern wars, the number of armed ordinary soldiers does not have an exceptional importance. It is the officers and generals who are responsible for the outcomes of the war – they develop and work out the directions of military operations and directly lead the troops into battle. The military operations of any army are doomed to failure/defeat/downfall being devoid of high quality decentralised warfare.

The confirmed death toll for junior officers from junior lieutenant to captain is 722. Due to the lack of an independent non-commissioned officer corps in the Russian Armed Forces, the loss of junior officers is of fundamental importance in determining the combat power of the troops.

It is as clear as day that the Russian army cannot swiftly restore the losses of the company and battery commanders, experienced in the field. The shortage of experienced platoon and company commanders sparks a degradation of discipline and sets the scene/stage for local riots among the most equipped/mobilised Russian units in Ukraine.

Being cognisant of the partial loss of management, the enemy has abandoned the tactics of direct contact with Ukrainian defenders and simultaneous offensives in several directions and switched to criminal tactics of remote pounding/shelling the peaceful cities.

The death of at least 10 Russian generals on the battlefield in Ukraine significantly exacerbates the cooperation/coordination of several Russian military districts. Among the known dead are General Roman Kutuzov (Acting Commander of the 5th Combined Arms Army of the Russian Federation), Major General of the Russian Air Force Kanamat Botashev (Commander of the 49th Army of Russia), Lieutenant General Yakov Ryzantsev (Commander of the 49th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District ), Major General Andriy Sukhovetskyi (Deputy Commander of the 41st Combined Arms Army of the Central Military District (Novosibirsk), the only senior officer whose death was confirmed by Russia), Major General Vitaly Gerasimov (Chief of Staff and First Deputy Commander of the 41st Army of the Central Military District (Novosibirsk), Major General Andriy Kolesnikov (Commander of the 29th Combined Arms Army of the Eastern Military District (Chita), Lieutenant General Andriy Mordvichev (Commander of the 8th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District (Novocherkask), Major-General Magomed Tushaev (Commander of Kadyrov’s “Private Guard” (Grozny), the Russians deny his death), Major-General Oleg Mityaev (Commander of the 150th Motor Rifle division (Rostov region). At least 6 more commanders were dismissed from their posts due to the poor effectiveness demonstrated by the Armed Forces of Russia after the unleashed assault on Ukraine.
