Along with the mass attacks, kremlin has intensified baseless accusations of Ukraine’s involvement in terrorism

After the attack by Ukrainian drones on russian strategic aviation airfields, russian propagandists, including through diplomatic channels, have intensified the spread of the narrative about alleged “Ukrainian terrorism.”

These accusations are being made at the same time as russia itself carried out one of the largest terrorist attacks on Ukraine in recent months, resulting in dozens of civilian casualties.

▫️ On the night of June 6th, russia launched over 450 aerial attack devices on many regions of Ukraine. As of now, it is known that at least 49 people have been injured and three killed, with destruction of civilian infrastructure and residential buildings. Meanwhile, propagandists do not hide the fact that most of the targeted objects were civilian — power stations, railways, post offices, subways, and so on.

It adds symbolism that the attack was carried out exactly two years after the explosion of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant — russia’s unprecedented terrorist attack. Thus, the intensification of the narrative about the “terrorist Kyiv regime” is yet another manipulation and attempt to distort reality in order to justify russia’s own crimes against Ukraine’s civilian population and its refusal to agree to a ceasefire.
