How putin is putting a new “iron curtain” over russia

The russian state duma is planning to restrict travel for MPs who have access to state secrets. This reflects a growing trend of limiting the right to free movement.

▫️ Every year, more categories of information in the russian federation are being classified as secret, and it’s not just limited to military matters. For instance, 30% of budget-related documents are now classified. Statistics on the banking sector, energy production, migration, and other areas are also restricted.

▫️ As a result, not only parliamentarians but also a large number of civil servants, employees in the social sector, infrastructure, industry, and others may soon face travel bans.

These restrictions on leaving the country, much like in the soviet union, are justified by the need to protect classified data from enemies. And in russia, the list of these enemies is quite extensive. Through “spy obsession” propaganda, the kremlin aims to further tighten its control over the population, pushing the country deeper into totalitarianism and military aggression.
